We may be biased, but at Duss, Kenney, Safer, Hampton & Joos, P.A., we believe each of the members of the Firm has the experience and sophistication to provide excellent legal services and advice to clients of the Firm on a wide range of matters. Each of the Firm’s shareholders is a well-respected, active member of our community and has been practicing law in the Jacksonville, Florida area for a period of fifteen (15) years or more.
Because Duss, Kenney, Safer, Hampton & Joos, P.A. is a full service law firm, an attorney’s work for his or her clients regularly encompasses more than one area of the Firm’s areas of practice. Accordingly, all attorneys of the Firm share a fundamental understanding of the various areas of the law in which the Firm practices, calling in more specialized assistance from other firm attorneys as needed to ensure quality and efficient legal services. In addition, attorneys in all practice areas are regularly involved in corporate and business law as well as in the selection, formation, and maintenance of business entities.
Commercial and Residential Real Estate
Our lawyers are recognized for service in the areas of both commercial and residential real estate and our clients include lenders, Realtors, developers, and contractors, as well as single family residence buyers and sellers. We are well-versed in the handling of all types of real estate transactions and contract negotiations. Our extensive experience in title work allows us to solve title problems quickly and efficiently and we have significant experience in handling short sales and workouts on all types of property for both lenders and borrowers. Our lawyers have extensive experience in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions throughout the State of Florida, with experience in similar transactions in other areas of the country. Our lawyers have participated in projects ranging from office buildings, hotels, ILF and ACLF facilities, restaurants and industrial facilities to apartment complexes, residential subdivisions, golf courses and raw land, representing institutional lenders, landlords and tenants, developers and owners.
Corporate and Business
Our services include the organization and maintenance of sole proprietorships, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and other business entities. We routinely advise clients on matters of entity choice, shareholder agreements, operating agreements and other matters of business relationships. We handle corporate contract and business agreements as well as sales and financing of business assets. Several members of the Firm serve as outside general counsel to corporate clients, assisting with day to day operations and as a resource to management on other decision making.
Commercial Litigation
Our principal areas of litigation include all aspects of complex commercial and general commercial as well as residential construction law, construction lien law, creditor bankruptcy, real estate (including foreclosures), commercial and residential landlord/tenant collections, probate and guardianship litigation.
Estates, Trusts and Probate
We offer will drafting, estate planning, estate and gift tax advice, and administration of estates and guardianships. Our services include the creation of trusts and guardianships as well as advance directives. We also offer counseling and services in all aspects of Elder Law.
